  1. did all the walks from one of the 5 paesi to the next a few years ago – most in poor repair, information scanty, times for the super-fit, no resting places, no refreshments beyond what you can carry, seems there’s been no improvements since then. Are they worth the effort? Not really – don’t think I would do them again!! Even though I do like that part of Italy

  2. If you ever return try this one, all amenities, beautiful and all by the sea.

    The footpath Arenzano-Cogoleto-Varazze.
Walk to mareQuesto route, which runs largely along the old railway discharged more than 40 years, you can admire the beauty of the coast of the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente, right by the sea shore. The entire route is included within the Beigua Geopark, which periodically organizes trips with geologists of the park, to discover the secrets of the rocks (information at the Experience Center Park).

The route starts on the seafront in Arenzano (parking at the beginning of the route), continues until Cogoleto (parking at the beginning of the walk) to finally reach Varazze (parking at the beginning of the walk) in the Province of Savona, exploiting part of the path to the pedestrian trail, known as the former railroad, and in part the sea promenade of Cogoleto.

Trafficking Arenzano-Cogoleto measures approximately 2 km, while the Cogoleto-Varazze is about 8 km long, consisting of Cogoleto the Promenade (Walk G. Govi) and the former Railway cycle path (route Cogoleto-Varazze). The entire route is mostly tiled flooring, except for a portion of about 300 meters, in natural background, located at the sports field of Cogoleto. Here the path fits on a short stretch of Aurelia not protected by guard-rail; the pedestrian crossing at this point is indicated by a horizontal or vertical signage and there is no sidewalk. Along the entire path between Arenzano Varazze and there are sections with slopes of particular importance. It should be noted that the conditions of the natural background are closely linked to those of atmospheric and maintenance.

Arenzano, Cogoleto and Varazze are three typical Ligurian coast to the west, characterized by a small town, with shops and public places, and a promenade with beach facilities, some of which are also accessible to wheelchair users (information at the door Terre Sea, http://www.terredimare.it). Arnzano and Varazze are the IAT tourist information points.
